We’re able to consistently win record-setting recoveries for truck accident victims because we value and understand the importance of hard work, preparation and trial experience.
Unlike at many other law firms, our Truck Accident Lawyers regularly take cases to trial—where we remain undefeated—and refuse to accept settlement offers unless the offer fully compensates our clients for ALL their injuries and losses.
Because our approach consistently leads to record-setting accident verdicts, many of our cases are settled for unprecedented amounts before trial.
In this testimonial, our client—who won the largest verdict in R&L Trucking Company’s history—explains her experience with our truck accident lawyers and the record-recovery we obtained on her behalf.
Over $1 Billion Won and the Largest Truck and 18 Wheeler Accident Victories in History
The verdicts and settlements that our accident lawyers have recovered for clients across Texas and the United States have consistently set records as
- the largest in the state, and
- the largest in the trucking company’s corporate history
$23.5 Million Settlement for Client Injured in Head-On Collision with Commercial Truck
Ryan Zehl and our team of Undefeated Truck Accident Lawyers recently obtained a $23.5 million settlement on behalf of a 34 year-old man who was severely injured after being hit head-on by a large commercial truck.
The settlement, which is the largest in Texas and the company’s corporate history, will ensure that our client receives the best medical care available and is able to care and provide for himself for the rest of his life.
Largest Verdict in History Against R&L Trucking Company
Ryan Zehl recovered the largest verdict in R&L’s corporate history after a 5 week trial against R&L Carriers, the largest private trucking company in the United States. Our client was rear-ended by one of R&L’s drivers while driving on I-20, just outside of Weatherford, Texas. The impact caused her vehicle to roll-over, resulting in a head and lower back injury from the wreck.
R&L denied responsibility for the collision, offered less than $150,000 to settle the case, and called a team of over 15 experts—including neurologist, neuropsychologists, orthopedists, and accident reconstructionists—to dispute our client’s injuries and attempt to prove that the collision was a “side swipe,” rather than a rear-end collision.
After hearing the evidence, however, the jury disagreed with R&L and awarded over $4 Million, as well as punitive damages, to our client for the company’s negligence and gross negligence in failing to properly train and supervise its driver.
The verdict is the #1 Largest Verdict in R&L’s corporate history, the only case where they’ve been required to pay punitive damages, and one of the only 18 wheeler trucking cases in Texas where punitive damages have been upheld on appeal.
Largest Settlement in History Against Oakley Trucking Company
Our law firm also recently obtained the #1 Largest Settlement in Oakley Trucking Company’s corporate history on behalf of a client who was rear-ended by a distracted driver, which caused his pick-up truck to roll over off the highway.
Less than 12 months after filing the lawsuit, we were able to obtain a substantial settlement that will provide for him and his 4 children for the rest of their lives.
We Force Trucking Companies to Take Responsibility
Having won record-setting 18 wheeler verdicts and settlements against the biggest trucking and transportation companies in the United States, trucking companies tend to take cases much more seriously when our attorneys are involved.
Why? Because they know that our professional lawyers won’t hesitate to take the case to trial if the company doesn’t offer our client a settlement that fully compensates them for all their damages and losses.
We Prove that the Trucking Company and its Driver Were at Fault
When we’re hired in an 18 wheeler accident case, we immediately obtain the driver’s logs and all maintenance and employment records, and send an accident reconstruction team to inspect the scene and the vehicles involved in the crash.
This evidence not only allows us to determine whether the driver exceeded the maximum number of driving hours and committed other violations of Federal safety laws, but it also provides us with physical evidence that establishes how fast the truck was traveling at impact, if and when it braked, and whether the driver was fatigued or distracted at the time of impact.
We then consult with both our client’s treating doctors and our medical experts to determine the nature and severity of our client’s injuries, how their injuries can be treated, and the cost of the medical treatment that our clients will need in the future.
After obtaining this information about the crash, we work with our experts to identify the total amount of compensation needed to ensure that our clients are able to care for themselves and their families for the rest of their lives.
If the trucking company or their insurer refuses to offer a settlement that compensates our clients for all their injuries and losses, we take the case to trial—where our 18 wheeler accident attorneys remain undefeated.

Record-Setting Verdicts and Settlements Against the Largest Trucking Companies in the Country
While almost every personal injury attorney claims to have experience handling truck accidents, few have actually taken a trucking case to trial.
And, despite what many think, car accidents are nothing like truck accidents.
In addition to size of the vehicles and substantial differences in force and momentum, truck accident cases are won or lost based on the attorney’s understanding of the Federal Safety Regulations, the technology that trucking companies and their drivers use to monitor the movement, speed, fuel consumption and driving activity of the trucks, and the lawyer’s willingness and ability to take your case to trial—and win.
In addition to having won over $1 Billion for our clients, our Truck Accident Lawyers have consistently recovered record-setting verdicts and settlements against the largest trucking and transportation companies in the United States, distinguishing our firm as one of the leading truck accident law firms in the country.
Truck Drivers and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Unlike in an ordinary car accident case, an experienced and professional truck accident attorney has to thoroughly understand the federal and state laws and regulations that govern the trucking companies and their drivers.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, for example, are federal safety laws that govern every trucking company and truck driver in the United States.
These laws control everything from the type of training a truck driver is required to receive and the maintenance that must be performed on the truck, to the number of hours a driver can spend behind the wheel before they’re considered to be fatigued and required to take an 8-hour rest break.
Having successfully represented thousands of 18 wheeler or tractor accident victims against the largest trucking companies in the United States, our Undefeated Truck Accident Lawyers understand the federal safety regulations and know where to look for critical evidence that proves that the trucking company and its driver were at fault.
